Groupe BPCE, the first banking institution in Europe to team up with the Global Fintech Challenge

Groupe BPCE announces that it has teamed up with the Global Fintech Challenge, an international open innovation competition organized by the Agorize Company. This online competition will run for a period of four months, ending with a physical event attended by the finalists in Paris in March 2016. The aim of this competition is to bring together the innovative ecosystem of worldwide financial technology businesses with a view to generating synergies between the key players in this sector. 

Groupe BPCE is the first banking group in Europe to team up with this open innovation competition dedicated to Fintech startups. By joining in this initiative, Group BPCE wants to work with startup companies from all over the world with a view to speeding up their growth and identifying promising new companies capable of strengthening the development of its own activities.

As emphasized by Philippe Poirot, Director of Digital Development, Transformation and Quality within Groupe BPCE: "Groupe BPCE’s ambition, via this competition, is to take advantage of the most innovative ideas developed by startups around the world in order to support the digital transformation of the private banking market.”

By teaming up with the Global Fintech Challenge, Groupe BPCE has positioned itself on the private banking segment, an area of considerable importance for the Group.

The most innovative startups will work on a co-development basis with Groupe BPCE. The overall winner in this competition will receive a financial endowment worth €30,000 for the completion of a Proof of concept (PoC).
