Change in Natixis’ governance
Natixis’ Board of Directors met today and unanimously appointed Stéphanie Paix as Chief Executive Officer of Natixis. A member of the BPCE Executive Management Committee, she will be in charge of Groupe BPCE’s global businesses. Chairman of the BPCE Management Board as of December 3, Nicolas Namias was also appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of Natixis. These two appointments at Natixis will be effective December 3, 2022.

Stéphanie Paix started her career in the Audit Department of the Banques Populaires from 1988 to 1994. She became regional manager at Banque Populaire Rives de Paris and then manager in charge of the back office and organization from 1994 to 2002.
She then moved to Natexis Banque Populaire as head of the back offices of the Corporate Banking division. In 2006, she was appointed General Manager of Natixis Factor and became a member of the Executive Committee of Coface.
In 2008, she was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Banque Populaire Atlantique before becoming Chair of the Management Board of Caisse d'Epargne Rhône Alpes in 2012.
In 2018, Stéphanie Paix became Deputy Chief Executive Officer in charge of the General Inspection Division of Groupe BPCE. She has been Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Groupe BPCE in charge of Group Risk Management since January 1, 2022.
Stéphanie Paix is a graduate of Institut d’études politiques de Paris.
Nicolas Namias began his career in 2004 in the Treasury department of France’s Ministry for the Economy and Finance. He was initially in charge of preparing international financial summits, before being appointed as the government’s substitute commissioner to the French financial market regulator AMF.
In 2008, he joined Groupe BPCE, where he became the Group’s Head of Steering for Commercial Banking and Insurance. In 2012, he was appointed Advisor to the Prime Minister for financing the economy, corporates and international economic affairs.
Nicolas Namias returned to Groupe BPCE in 2014 as Head of Strategy and subsequently Chief Financial Officer of Natixis and member of the Senior Management Committee. In 2018, he became member of the Groupe BPCE Management Board, firstly as Chief Financial & Strategy Officer and later in August 2020 as Chief Executive Officer of Natixis. In October 2022, Nicolas Namias was appointed Chairman of the BPCE Management Board, effective December 3, 2022.
Nicolas Namias is a former student of France’s Ecole Nationale d’Administration, and a graduate of Stanford Graduate School of Business (executive program), ESSEC Business School and Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris.
