Natixis appoints Ammar Bukhamsin as Country Head of Saudi Arabia, Corporate & Investment Banking

Natixis is pleased to announce the appointment of Ammar Bukhamsin as Country Head for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Corporate & Investment Banking, and Chief Executive Officer of Natixis Saudi Arabia Investment Company, effective November 16th, 2020.

Ammar, a Saudi National, is based in Riyadh and continues to report to Barbara Riccardi, Regional Head for the Middle East, Corporate & Investment Banking. Ammar has been with Natixis since 2015, most recently as Head of Global Markets Sales for the Middle East, based in Dubai.

Barbara Riccardi said: “We are delighted that Ammar has agreed to lead our operations in Saudi Arabia as we enhance our local presence in the Kingdom to better serve our Saudi clients. By drawing on Natixis’ expertise in green & sustainable finance, we aim to support the diversification of the country’s economy, notably by accompanying clients in the most polluting industries to transition to more sustainable business models.”

Natixis has been active for more than 20 years in the Middle East and has had an on-the-ground regional presence in Dubai since 2006. Today it covers 14 countries regionally, focused on the GCC and Egypt. Natixis incorporated its CMA-licensed subsidiary, Natixis Saudi Arabia Investment Company, earlier this year with the objective of deepening its relationships with its existing clients in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including corporates, public sector entities and financial institutions, and serving new client groups such as family offices.

Ammar Bukhamsin has more than 16 years of experience in the finance industry. He began his career in 2004 at Citi between London and Bahrain, where he built the institutional Islamic sales platform and established the sales and product development strategy for the GCC region. He joined UBS in 2010 in London, expanding fourfold the MENA flow and solution sales franchise as part of the Financial Institutions team / business, moving to Dubai with Goldman Sachs in 2013 as Executive Director in the Securities Division where he led the sales coverage for financial institutions in the region. Ammar joined Natixis in 2015 in the Global Markets division in Dubai and was named Head of Global Markets Sales for the Middle East in 2019.
